our ultra soft inks
ULTRA SOFT H20
Our Ultra Soft water based HSA (High Solids Acrylic) inks are formulated to produce a super soft "Hand" when printed onto garments. These inks are a combination of pigments and a base, either a semi transparent base for light colored garments, or an opaque base for darker colored garments. These inks hold amazing detail when printed, and can be formulated to match specific Pantone colors when needed. These inks lay down as a thin layer onto the garment, and will not fade with the garment over time. Unlike standard Plastisol inks, these inks will never crack or flake off the garment either.
We recommend this ink system when printing a darker color ink than that of the garment, to get that ultra soft. printed graphic on your apparel.
Fabric Printability: Looks fantastic printed directly on any light Cotton, CVC, or Tri-Blend garments, which make it the overall choice of inks.
Opacity: A very opaque ink on light garments, yet yields a semi transparent look on darker and blended garments.
Softness: When printed directly onto your garments, these inks are very thin, and ultra soft.
Print Method: Depending on the design, we may print through a variety of screen mesh sizes, directly to the garment. Leaving a very thin and Ultra Soft layer of ink onto the garment.
The water based Discharge inks are a combination of formulated colored pigments and base much like the Ultra Soft inks. However there is a magic ingredient mixed with the ink that acts as a bleaching agent. Basically these inks dye the garment, rather than lay onto the garment like the Ultra Soft inks, which provide a print that (once washed) have almost no "Hand" at all! Discharge inks hold amazing graphic detail when printing, and the vibrancy and opacity are absolutely beautiful once printed. These inks work wonders on both light and dark colored fabrics, but do have some issues with certain garment colors (such as Royal Blue, Forest Green, Purple, and some Neon colors). Unlike the Ultra Soft inks, these inks will fade with the garment over time. Because blended shirts have Polyester and or Rayon (which cannot be dyed), these inks have a mixed result on the said type of garments.
We recommend this ink system when printing onto 100% cotton garments to get the softest, most opaque, and brightest colors on your garments.
Fabric Printability: Looks fantastic printed directly on 100% Cotton, really nice on CVC or blended (80% Cotton or higher), provides mixed results on 60/40 blends and lower, and does not work on Tri-Blend or Rayon garments (Polyester and Rayon cannot be dyed).
Opacity: These inks are 100% opaque when printed onto any colored garment that are 100% cotton. 80% opaque on blended garments.
When we have a blended garment that requires a solid opaque printed graphic, we do a special process of print. First off printing either a Discharge or Ultra Soft white under base under the entire image, leaving us a white surface to print the colors over. This method yields a 100% opaque, and very vibrant finished print.
We recommend printing this method on blended garments, and when the image must be absolutely opaque.
When printing on polyester, we often do print a "Blocker" ink underneath the entire image before printing the underbase white. Once again, this ink is a water-based ink and while remaining to be soft to the touch, is adding another layer to print.
Color Options: We can match any Pantone color, and do not have any "Stock" colors, as we mix these inks for each job.
Fabric Printability: Looks amazing on all colored garments and mostly all blended garments as well. Because Polyester and Rayon shrink and scortch under intense heat, we do not recommend on all blended garments, and will not print this method on any tri-blend garments.
Opacity: Once the colors are printed over the white underbase, the colors are 100% opaque, and the printed image will not fade with the garment.
Softness: As a result of the extra layer of white first printed, this method does tend to have the most "Hand" in comparison to the previous methods. We are picky here, and although we can still feel the imprinted image, it is still not even close to the thick plastic feeling you get when printing with Plastisol oil based inks.
Print Method: When the garment type allows us to, we print our underbase through a standard mesh screen, and lay the print colors on the top of the underbase with a very high mesh screen. This method limits the ink of the print to a very thin layer, and yields a very soft hand to the garment. Sometimes however, we will need to print a "Blocker" layer before the underbase to ensure the print does not suffer from "Dye Migration".
GLOW & REFLECT
We offer a few specialty inks here at Nifty, and you can create some absolutely stunning designs with these inks. We offer Glow and Reflective inks, as well as some pretty nifty metalic inks and additives to boot!
Glow H20: Is one of the coolest effects to add to your design to make your brand have extra pop in the night!
Color Options: White, White/Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue & Green.
Fabric Printability: Looks amazing on all colored garments and mostly all blended garments as well. Because Polyester and Rayon shrink and scortch under intense heat, we do not recommend on all blended garments, and will not print this method on any tri-blend or Nylon garments.
Opacity: 80%-100% opaque depending on color of Glow pigment.
Softness: There is a "Hand" to these prints, but nothing worth worrying about, especially once the lights go out!
Print Method: All of the Glow H20 inks are printed first with a white underbase, either Discharge or Ultra Soft.
Reflecto H20: Is one of the coolest effects to add to your design to make your brand have extra pop in the night!
Color Options: White, Black, Black/Green, Orange, Red, Magenta, Blue & Green.
Fabric Printability: These inks are semi transparent, and work best on light colored garments. Because there are tiny glass beads in the ink base, it is not possible to print over an underbase to gain opacity. Works great on all types of garments.
Opacity: 30%-100% opaque depending on color of garment and pigment.
Softness: There is a slight "Hand" to these prints, but nothing worth worrying about, especially once the lights go out!
Print Method: All of the Hek-It-Reflek H20 inks are printed directly onto the fabric without the option of and underbase.
